A Family Tradition

Holmdel Footwear was founded in 2010. The company has its roots in the Zamkoff family's long history in the footwear industry, dating back to the 1940s. With a focus on quality and affordability, Holmdel Footwear & Apparel offers a range of footwear and apparel products.

Third Generation

Hyman Zamkoff, the eldest of eleven siblings, began his career in the shoe business in Brooklyn, New York, in the 1940s. A few years later, his brother Julius joined him, and they moved the company to Broadway in Manhattan. In 1960, Julius's son, Milton, joined the family business at the age of 18. Shortly afterward, Hyman retired, and as the business continued to grow, they relocated to the iconic Duane Street shoe district in Manhattan, where they expanded to occupy three floors of a building.

During this period, the company, known as Zamkoff Footwear, began manufacturing and importing shoes from suppliers across the United States, Brazil, Italy, and China. By 1989, with Julius retired and the industry evolving, Milton closed Zamkoff Footwear and launched a new venture, The New Jersey Shoe Warehouse.

In 2009, Milton's son, Mark Zamkoff, joined the family business and brought with him a vision for expanding the company. In 2010, Mark opened Holmdel Footwear in Marlboro, NJ, introducing a fresh approach to the business model strengthening focus on high-quality shoes and clothing for federal institutions and wholesale customers.

Today, Holmdel Footwear remains a trusted, family-operated business with many valued employees from different families, all contributing to a close-knit, reliable team. This collective commitment to quality and service upholds the company’s dedication to excellence.
